Derek paints at night when the light leaves the sky and the stars appear above his studio in the old hayloft. Surrounded by farmland the animal and bird noises give a comforting backdrop to the scent of white spirit and oil paint. It is here that the magic of the night meets the imagination that creates these colourful and memorable works.
